On Prime
CSIRO ON Prime is a free, nine-week pre-accelerator program that helps research teams translate scientific ideas into real-world impact, and thanks to CSIRO’s collaboration with both the University of New England and the Smart Region Incubator, I was invited to cover the first of the nine sessions taking place as part of the program.
The event took place in Booloominbah Historic House, a location at UNE I have spent no shortage of time shooting around, but this was my first time actually getting to shoot inside. What an incredible building.
The brief was to capture the energy of the workshop, in both photography and video (the video will be used for a separate project down the road, so keep your eyes peeled for that), and with the difficult shooting conditions thanks to the lighting, I really felt like I was in my element. This is the sort of project the art of documentary is all about.
It was great working with UNE and the SRI again, and I got to meet some really cool people. I also managed to get quite a lot of shots I am particularly happy with. I especially love a lot of the shots taken from outside through the windows.
I am really looking forward to seeing where the video component of the project goes from here and how it evolves over time.
