Testing the Retropia Repurposed Disposable Film Camera Lens

After weeks of non-stop ads from Retropia on my Instagram feed, I figured I would finally give the Repurposed Disposable Film Camera Lens a whirl. I also picked up the Retro Glow Filter and the Retroflash, neither of which I’ve messed with yet, but given my love of weird old lenses, I was particularly curious to see what this one could do.
With a 32mm focal length and a fixed f/11 aperture locked at infinity, I knew it would be pretty useless in the dark, but I was curious to see how it would perform once the sun came out. All in all, the character is exactly what you would expect: soft in the middle, distorted as hell around the edges, and generally a bit of a "vibe", as the kids say.
My real goal was to turn my old 200D into an easy everyday-carry camera, and with this lens attached, there’s no need for a lens cap or anything like that. It can happily live in my little carry bag, ready to be pulled out for a photo at a moment’s notice.
I’ll be curious to see just how far I can push it over time once I’ve adjusted to its quirks.
