Sit down with Tim Engstrom, industrial designer at Engstrom, as he shares how his background in the arts and furniture design shapes his philosophy, why he prioritises local components and manufacturing, and what sets Engstrom apart from other brands in the industry.
Founded by engineer Lars Engström and industrial designer Timo Engström in 2008, Engström is a small Swedish family company. We believe that music should be enjoyed through pure & natural sound. We think of our amplifiers as musical instruments, rather than tech gadgets.
Timo Engström is an industrial designer responsible for the Scandinavian exterior of Engström's amplifier family, and day-to-day company operations. Inspired by Scandinavian radio furniture of the 60's and 70's, Timo brings an elegantly functional aesthetic that makes the amplifiers unique in the industry.
