Armidale Streets Sessions Vol1

08/08/26

It’s really starting to feel like spring is in the air, which is strange given it should still be weeks away…

So who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth when it comes to warm Saturday morning sunlight? I thought it would be about as good a time as any to get myself back on the tools and do some urban landscape photography. Just me, the Canon R8, and the nifty fifty.

I ended up taking a lot of shots that weren’t keepers, hardly a surprise after the long winter break, but all things considered, I’m pretty happy with the ones I decided to keep. The petrol bowsers have become a little bit of a sad story now, as only a couple of days after taking these photographs, somebody ended up coming off the road and driving right into the abandoned service station, removing the bowser next to this one and bringing down the roof. It’s all fenced off now, and I guess it’s something I should probably follow up with on another shoot.
