A Living Entertainment Christmas
06/12/25
I have been working part-time as a video editor on YouTube videos for Living Entertainment for a couple of years now (and previously worked there full-time as a floorman and video editor when the business was operating in Lismore). Despite handing in my resignation earlier this year (I’ll still be editing as a contractor), I was invited to the business’s first Christmas party since reopening in Toowoomba. My wife and I made the five-hour drive up to Queensland just for the single-night event, and it was absolutely worth it. The people at Living Entertainment aren’t just coworkers, they’re friends, and we all get along really well and have a great time together, it’s a shame we’re now spread across so much of the country.
After my experience photographing the Halloween party back in October, I figured the best approach was once again to bring along the old Canon 200D with the 24mm pancake lens. Flash just feels like the right choice for these kinds of events, especially when shooting in black and white. I set things up so anyone could pick up the camera and take photos, so while most of these images are mine, there are plenty where I have no idea who took them. I’ve always said I hate the look of flash photography, but I think I’m finally starting to learn that it definitely has its applications, even within my own work.
Anyway, enjoy a bunch of photos of us all playing pool.
