Sometimes spec work pays off, and I can’t think of a better example than the video and photography I did of the 2024 Australian Celtic Festival.
I didn’t really expect it to go anywhere, I was, after all, shooting entirely my way, in my own style, but lo and behold, in the lead-up to the 2025 Australian Celtic Festival, I received an enquiry asking if I’d be available for the event. Of course, I said yes!
I had an absolute blast during the festival, with assistance from Peacock Photography helping ease the load a little. One big difference from last year’s event was that I now had a very tight schedule to stick to, I didn’t have the same luxury of time when it came to lining up shots and waiting for key moments. That said, it didn’t stop me from capturing some of my favourite images of the year.
When it comes to variety, it’s not every day you get to shoot everything from parades to wrestling, live music (indoors and outdoors) to jousting.
It was a thrill to be invited to take part in the Australian Celtic Festival in an official capacity this year, and here’s hoping I’m back again, either on the job or just for fun, in 2026.
