Armidale Show 2026
This year I decided to enter the Armidale Show photography competition, submitting 10 images across 10 themes, an experience that involved a lot more trimming, mounting, and trial-and-error than expected. Even though I was running on fumes after a hectic couple of days, I still managed to capture a few moments from the show that I really liked. Despite only taking home one win, it was a valuable experience, and it was great to see others in my circle do so well.
Sticky Date Pudding
I revisited my long-dormant “Home Movies” project over the weekend while also taking the chance to practise some portraits with family. A little too much sticky date pudding made the creative process harder than expected, proving photography is sometimes easier on an empty stomach. Even if the results weren’t perfect, it was a fun and valuable return to experimenting.
Back to the Bush Auto Festival
Visiting the town of Barraba for it’s Back to the Bush Auto Festival. A small event with a lot of heart.
Volunteers from the Shire
A true collaborative production, with Uralla Shire Council handling all of the interview portions internally and Visitors From Dreams capturing all supplemental b-roll and managing editing responsibilities, this project was one of our most significant film undertakings to date.
UNE - Dr Sarah Pearson 10th Chancellor Installation
It was a privilege to be invited by UNE to cover the installion of the 10th Chancellor of UNE on the lawns of Booloominbah. As is often the case I saw a lot of familiar faces and got to meet plenty of new ones.

Anzac Day Parade
Thank you to everyone who came together to honour and remember on ANZAC Day last week—a day made even more meaningful by our wonderful community.
Coastal Path
Over the long weekend, I hiked the 13km Coastal Path from Lennox Head to Ballina, camera gear in tow. What should've been a 2.5-hour walk turned into a 6-hour spec shoot, chasing light and beachscapes. Despite forgetting to clean one of my sensors, I captured some shots edging closer to the 16mm feel of Morning of the Earth (1972). It may never lead to work, but sunrise shooting and learning on the go made it all worth it.
